Once again... no 'I told you so's allowed

Despite posting nothing I actually got more done this last november than the year before....

why you might ask





I've written little scenes for at least 6 different stories.

I couldn't decide what story I wanted to write so I started writing a little bit of each. except than I kept getting more and more ideas which meant more and more pages of outlines, character config sheets and name ideas. *sigh*

I have a sickness, I know.

although I'm probably moving...

Okay so the whole write a novel in a month thing kind of came crashing down around me..... along with thanksgiving and finals. =) BUT I still want to write the story.

With no real motivation anymore it might not happen but that just means that I need people to bug me.
give me deadlines.
proof read things for me.
(once this term is over of course)

I need a sounding board to tell me that no you cannot put more than one Chuck Norris reference in your novel and yes it is okay to write more than dialouge.

anyway. did i mention that i'm at ccc with very little sleep and not enough caffiene?

So on Sunday I'm going to the Portland NaNoWrimo Kick-off party at the central library downown. My dad is going to come with me. It should be fun to meet the other insane portlanders. =)

Other than that I really need to come up with characters. Like really. Cuz as it is I only have two. I need more than that. I need names for things, people, places, ideas! That will probably be my next post. What would you call a car in the future?

So has anyone noticed that I always am making posts on here while at ccc and after having a vault? I think it makes things interesting.

I'll try and remember to update tomorrow but no promises.

The Chuck Norris Influence

Due to an increasing amount of Chuck influence I think I'll need to find a way to fit him into my novel somehow. Any ideas?

My only "challenge to myself" idea was to have an homage to all my favorite tv shows and movies. Atlantis being the most obvious at the moment with my main character being Elizabeth Sheppard. (if you don't see how this relates to atlantis go to www.gateworld.net)

So far I've thought of

I think there's more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I might edit this when I get home. (I'm at ccc waiting for my mom at the moment.)

Over on the NaNo WriMo forums they had these questions to answer about your main character (m/c) but I thought I would post my answers here instead of there.

1. Does your m/c have a pet? A dog what kind I don’t know yet.
2. What’s his/her nick name? Liz, Lizzie, or my favorite Lizbeth. =)
3. Does your m/c have a Lucky Number? ….. O_o uh… 2?
4. What’s your m/c’s favorite Color? Red. Well maybe blue, or green, oh I don’t know.
5. Favorite Season? And why? Summer because like me she is coldblooded.
6. What type of music does your m/c listen to? (ex: classical, rock, heavy metal, jazz, etc) she’s into every kind of music. She’s very eclectic.
7. If your m/c could dye his/her hair, what color would he/she dye it? Something funky so she would stand out more.
8. What’s your m/c’s favorite food? PIZZA or maybe something weird and random that I should really put more thought into.
9. Who was your m/c’s first crush? …. A guy,….
10. Is your m/c social? To a certain extent.
11. Can your m/c dance? The waltz no. a balletish gymnastics kind of dance yes.
12. Can your m/c sing? Yes. =)
13. Would your m/c ever get drunk and make a fool of him/herself? No.
14. Does your m/c like wearing socks? Yes
15. Does your m/c like hats? Only if they don’t obstruct her vision.
16. Does your m/c use lotion? Yes
17. Has your m/c ever sleep talk before? No. oh but wait that could be interesting…
18. Does your m/c eat neatly or messy? Neatly.. duh
19. Did your m/c grow up with one mother, two mothers, one father, two fathers, one mother and one father, or did your m/c have no guardian parent? One mother one father.
20. Did your m/c go to school? High school. Or maybe college or maybe BOTH!

Also as a disclaimer I would like to say that I have the right to change my mind about any of these answers at anytime. So no one can tell me when they read my finished novel(knock on wood) "Hey wait you said in that quiz a month and a half ago that ...."

Count down to the 1st

I figured it out! It took me a whole day and afternoon but I finally figured out what nanowrimo means! Its the National Novel Writing Month! YAY!

I'm glad I figured that out now instead of noticing it half way through November. =)

I've already got my outline done! Okay so it's not a final outline but it's a place to start and at least now I can come up with characters.

So to anyone else this probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense but hopefully it will once I write it. Or at least after I make a better outline. =)
